February 2010, as a long standing member and past Chairman of the Scientific and Technical Council, Mr. Edlund introduced the 82nd Annual Academy Award's Sci-Tech Dinner and Awards presentation, and introduced the evening's host, actress Elizabeth Banks. From May 5, 2009 to May 8, 2009 Richard Edlund attended the FMX 2009 Conference in Stuttgart. His talk was entitled "My role as a Visual Effects Supervisor - Experiences in working with some of the industry's finest directors".
81st OSCARS
February 2009, as a well established member and past Chairman of the AMPAS' Science & Technology Council, Mr. Edlund assisted in presenting the 81st Annual Academy Award's Sci-Tech Dinner, as well as introducing the evening's host, actress Jessica Biel.

LEICA EXHIBITION
From August 1, 2008 to August 19, 2008 a collection of Richard Edlund's photographs was on display at the Leica Gallery in Salzburg, Austria.
Entitled "Cinematographer: My Personal View", this special collection of photographs was taken by Mr. Edlund in Morocco while on location for "Charlie Wilson's War".
